Red Sox & Shoes

I forgot to mention that I made a dumb move yesterday and left all but one pair of shoes in my hotel room. Not to worry, they are being mailed to California as we speak. How does a person's shoes make it back before the person who wears them? That's the answer to this riddle.

I stayed an extra day in Philly to rest and to enjoy the Yankee downfall. I see that someone else picked the Red Sox to win in the poll and we can say 'I told you'.

Well I'm going to Atlanta tomorrow morning. Thanks Karim for letting me stay at your crib.

Road Weary

I made it to Atlanta today and not a moment too soon. This might be my last cross country trip.

I stayed with my boy Earl who was kind enough to let this road weary nomad drop in for a night. I'd like to share with you what he wrote to me about how he was effected by my trip to New York.

" I want to thank you for helping me find my way out of Rochester, you see..you gave me the motivation to make a change in my life..a big one. When I got that email out of the blue, I was so depressed at my situation at that time, but when i read the email..I starting thinking"why cant I take a risk like that?"..and when u called me from NJ on that friday night and I could hear the excitement in your voice..by that sunday night I knew I was on my way to a similiar decision..so thanks brother..ALOT!!! "

I can say that Earl is well on his way to settling in Atlanta. He's got a phat apartment and is getting many interviews every week. I'm proud of him and I'm also happy that my little adventure did result in something good for someone other then myself.

Well, off to New Orleans tomorrow.

New Orleans

It feels strange to be in New Orleans again. You know how people say that when you die, your whole life flashes before you? Well, that's the feeling that I have here because I'm here just visiting. It used to be home. I used to be a part of this community, but now I'm just passing through.

Pablo's loft is my residence for tonight and its also a very nice place. The highlight so far was getting gumbo and red beans and rice from the Praline Connection! Yummy.

We went to the House of Blues tonight for night of Salsa, Reggaeton, Marengue and Hip Hop.

More to come from New Orleans as I'll be here until Sunday.

Just Like Old Times

First let me update you on the latest news on my dad. He's had a colonoscopy and bone scan both test results were negative so we're very happy about that. We are awaiting the results from the ct scan which will let us know if the cancer is spread far beyond the prostate. The results will be in on Wednesday.

As for me, I'm in New Orleans in 85 degree weather and it feels like the good old days. Two of my creative comrade Cedric and Dave joined me for a stroll down memory lane. We reminisced about on set and in studio antics and shared info on people that we lost touch with. Priceless moments.

I have to come back here more often. I miss these guys.

Motorcycle Diaries

I stuck around another day and I went to see Motorcycle Diaries. 'In 1952, two young Argentines, Ernesto(Che) Guevara and Alberto Granado, set out on a road trip to discover the real Latin America.' I can't express how much I love this film! I've been reflecting on where I've come from and where I will be next year. Mainly in other countries.

One thing that came to mind is that you leave a piece of yourself everywhere you go. For me, the more I travel the more I change as a person. I'm excited about this and I assume that after my next stage of traveling, I'll be able to relate to this film even more.

Well, goodbye New Orleans. Pablo you're a saint thanks for the hospitality. 2 more days or driving and I'll be in the bay. God willing.

Texas

If you've ever had the chance to drive across Texas, you know that it is quite a task. My goal today was to make to El Paso which sits on the border with New Mexico and I did. It took 16 hours to get from New Orleans to here. Believe it or not, 16 hours of driving tomorrow will put me in the Bay Area.

I've seen nothing but Bush/Cheney signs. Big surprise huh?

N Cali

I got here. After leaving a week ago, I got here. With the aid of Drum n Bass for the last hour and much Cappicino I'm here.

Over the last 7 months, I've been at some point in 28 of the 50 states and I'll reflect on that soon, but right now its time to sleep.

Thank you folks for you thoughts and for checking on me during the drive.
