A "Normal Day"
Today felt like a routine day for me. Get up, work with Jerry's & have dinner with a friend. Should
I be concerned with getting into a pattern? Not yet. I don't feel that the pattern that I am in is off course; in fact I feel
that this routine is a result of being on my path.
The monotony of everyday life was killing me in the bay area. I'm not knocking the bay, it's just that if you stay anywhere
long enough, you will become complacent. Doing this site has been a daily reminder to me that I am in motion and it keeps
me focused. If i don't have something interesting or creative to write about, I feel bad & that forces me to keep the
brain moving.
Speaking of moving, David & Lauren are doing the big move this weekend so I will have a new contact number. I'll
send it out soon and if for some reason it doesn't land in your inbox, let me know and I'll send it again.

My First Visitor
As of 6:00am this morning, I got my very first visitor!! Terra arrived early this morning and I don't know how I woke
up in time to pick her up, but I did. So this is the beginning of a new webpage on this site called "Who's in town" which
allows folks who make the trek to New York to write about their experience. Raw, uncut & uncensored. Unfortunately
I haven't posted it yet because of my ongoing phone issues which are supposed to be resolved today.
Being a tour guide gives me a chance to see how much I've learned about the area in the few weeks I've been here. Terra
is staying with her friend Jeff up in Westchester County and they wanted a mini late night tour of Brooklyn. As you probably
know, I'm only familar with Park Slope and Williamsburg so that's where we went.
We met up in Williamsburg with Jeff's friend Jeremy who used to play in a band with him. He led us to a bar (can't remember
the name) that spun a lot of 80's music. They broke out the Michael Jackson and you know I had to get out there right?
Someone came up to me and asked to take my picture for a magazine as a potential model. I looked around for the hidden
camera and waited for them to say, 'you're on bloopers and practical jokes', but I guess it was legit. Although, I think its
highly unlikely that something will come of this, any income right now would be nice.
I hope Terra had a good time, but I'll let her express that on the "Who's in town" page, if I ever get my phone on that
is...

Empty Apt & Jazz Concert
Lauren, David & yum yum moved into their new apartment today. I knew the day was coming, but it still was shocking
to see the place virtually empty. It'a kinda sad not having them here, but at least we're still in the same neighborhood.
In the evening, Terra and I attended a Ron Carter concert @ the Blue Note. I got tickets from my co-workers back in Cali
as a farwell gift. It was very nice! The feeling was formal like being in church or something.
The last of my hookups and freebies are just about wiped out so this is probably one of my last weeks of unemployment.
I expect to have a job by the first week of June. I'm ready for it though, so it wont be so bad.

Verizon Stinks
There is no end to the frustration that I have with the Verizon home telephone service. After complaining and fighting
with Verizon for the past 3 days, my phone was finally on. This lasted all of 12 hours as it went off mysteriously when I
ended my internet connection around 3:00pm.
So I call the company via Shelly's cell phone & they seem to be more abrasive and less helpful every time. So now
as it stands, someone is coming out on Monday to check the line.
I'm kinda stressing cause I had hoped to spend all weekend searching for work. Not having a line, limits me to maybe
a few minutes a day at an internet cafe. I'll try not to dwell on it too much.

La Mama
Tonight, Terra and I attended a series of Greek plays at La Mama Theatre. Jerry had 3D image projected during the Seven Aganist Thebes, so he was kind enough to hook us up with tickets.
I really enjoyed the performances! They were performed in the original Greek language so sometimes I would try to figure
out what was going on without using the playbill. It's great getting a preview of how it will be when I live in other countries
not knowing the language at first, but picking up on things as time goes along.
The music was outstanding! I think there were 3 or 4 people playing everything from Violins to ancient instruments to
drums, very impressive. The fight choreography was so good that I was afraid for the actors! You have people climbing 15-20
feet grabbing and clawing at each other with no safety net. Amazing!
It was truly a Jewel of a night seeing the legendary Ellen Stewart's interpretation of these plays. I've just been
introduced to her work through Jerry, but from what I can see, she's 80 years young and still going strong! We should
all be so lucky.

Wasted Day
On Saturday, I was told by a representative/demon at Verizon that a technician was coming out to the apartment between
8:00am-5:00pm so I needed to be there. Of course nothing went according to plan.
It was 4:00pm and no tech came by. I walked to a pay phone and called the "company" to find out what the excuse was this
time. The guy I talked to changed the time and day to Tuesday without notifying me! All I can do at this point is throw my
hands up in the air.
I lost a day of work with Jerry, a day of sharing time with Terra on her last day and an evening of surfing the net for
work. It doesn't stop there. I'd planned also to make a return trip to Boston tomorrow, but the way things are looking now who
knows?
Right now I'm at easyinternetCafe in TimesSq. which is kinda fresh! Internet access is only 2.50 per hour you can buy a $5 pass for the whole day. My voicemail
is working again so if you need to reach me, you can leave a message and I will check often.

A Working Phone Line
It took 6 days for the geniuses at Verizon to figure out that there was nothing wrong with my line just that for some
unexplained reason, it was turned off from their system. I've been telling them this the whole time and they had to send
a tech out for that. Maybe I should work for them.
Having a working phone also means the start of the precession of monthly bills. Oh not that they'd gone completely away,
just some you can actually pay off before you go to your 25th high school reunion. Ok, enough sarcasm for the day. Send me
all the good 'find a job(s)' energy you can muster ok?
